Braised cabbage

Ingredients (2 servings):

  • Cabbage0.5 (~600 g)
  • Water – 250 ml
  • White vinegar (6%) – 40 ml
  • Bay leaf (dried) – 3
  • Cumin – to taste
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black pepper (ground) – to taste

Braised cabbage

Ingredients (2 servings):

  • Cabbage0.5 (~600 g)
  • Water – 250 ml
  • White vinegar (6%) – 40 ml
  • Bay leaf (dried) – 3
  • Cumin – to taste
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black pepper (ground) – to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash the cabbage, remove the outer and/or imperfect leaves, and slice it into 1 cm (about 1/2 inch) wide strips.
  2. Combine the vinegar and water in a small bowl.
  3. Place the chopped cabbage in a very large pan, pour in the vinegar and water mixture, add broken bay leaves, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Cover the pan with a lid and cook the cabbage over low heat, stirring occasionally. Add a bit of water if needed to prevent the cabbage from burning. Cook for 40-60 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
