Soy-glazed chicken drumsticks

Ingredients (2 servings):

  • Chicken legs2 (~250 g)
  • Soy sauce20 g
  • Tomato paste – 10 g
  • Honey – 15 g
  • Ground coriander – 0.5 teaspoons
  • Ground ginger – 0.5 teaspoons
  • Garlic – 1-2 cloves
  • Sunflower oil – to taste

  • Chicken legs2 (~250 g)
  • Soy sauce20 g
  • Tomato paste – 10 g
  • Honey – 15 g
  • Ground coriander – 0.5 teaspoons
  • Ground ginger – 0.5 teaspoons
  • Garlic – 1-2 cloves
  • Sunflower oil – to taste

Instructions

  1. Optional: For a lighter option, remove the skin from the chicken drumsticks.
  2. Heat a bit of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the chicken for about 10 minutes, turning frequently, until a golden crust forms. If the skin was removed, you can cook it alongside for extra flavor.
  3. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, tomato paste, honey, coriander, ginger, and peeled, crushed garlic. Stir until smooth, then add 150 ml of water and mix again.
  4. After 10 minutes, pour the sauce into the skillet with the chicken. Once it starts to boil, cover and cook over moderate heat for 20 minutes, turning the meat occasionally.
  5. Then remove the lid, increase the heat, and cook, stirring often, until the sauce thickens to the desired consistency.
